The providers at Trahan ENT and Aesthetics are excited to offer this service to our patients.  We have selected the Blomdahl Medical Ear Piercing System, which is available ONLY to physicians.

Medical ear piercing in our office means that your child will receive professional care from a provider who has been trained in sterile technique and wound management.

We recommend ear piercing after age 2.5 months to ensure that children have had their first set of vaccines, and allows the ear lobe to grow big enough for proper placement of earrings.  All eligible patients should be up to date on vaccines.

Ear piercings are done by appointment only, and not as as “add-on” to another visit.  This will allow enough time to perform the procedure, explain and answer questions about aftercare.

We only pierce ear lobes, and only do one piercing per lobe per visit.  We will perform a second piercing on ear lobes, but nothing beyond 2 per lobe.  We do not pierce ear cartilage, noses, belly buttons, etc.

The cost is $50 for the procedure.  This includes the studs, which are removed 6 weeks after.

Full payment is due when service is performed, and this procedure can not be filed with insurance.

If you have recently had an ear lobe repair, you must wait at least 4 months before piercing the lobe again.

Six weeks after the procedure the piercing studs should be removed and replaced with earrings of your choosing.

We recommend avoiding swimming for 2-3 weeks after ear piercing. Chlorine from pools and bacteria from un-chlorinated waters may irritate or contaminate the wound and delay healing.
